Gevorgyan, Karen

Born - 07.05.1941 in Yerevan.
In 1956 graduated from music college in Yerevan. 1963 - graduated from the Cinematographer Department of VGIK (B.Volchek's master class). 1963-64 - worked at Armenfilm Studio. 1967- has graduated from the Advanced Directing Courses in Moscow (L.Trauberg's master class). Worked in Mosfilm Studio, Tsentrnauchfilm, Yerevan Studio of Documentary Films. 1970-81-worked at Armenfilm Studio, from where he was banished after the film "Farewell Beyond the Border" was banned. Later worked at Lenfilm Studio and Dovzhenko Film Studio in Kyiv. In 1992 established his own independent Studio "Navigator." Except of films made in Armenia he shot also: "Kapa," short (1968), "Sailing Vessel of the Sky," doc. (1971), "Academician Knunyants," doc. (1973), "Ivan Pavlov" (Lenfilm Studio, 1982-84), "Only You Know" (Lenfilm Studio, 1986), "Skewbald Dog Running Along the Sea Shore" (Kyiv's Dovzhenko Studio, 1992).
