Zhamharyan, Jergiz

Born - 07.09.1903 in Bitlis (Turkey). Died - 22.09.1984 in Yerevan.
In 1915, surviving the Turkish massacres, escaped to Yerevan and lived in orphanage. 1922-25 - studied at the law department of Yerevan State University. 1930 - graduated from the Directing Department of State Cinema College in Moscow (S. Eisenstein;s master class). 1936-50 - director of drama theaters in Leninakan and Kirovakan. Since 1950a. - director of Yerevan Studio of documentary films. Director and scriptwriter of two feature and about 50 documentary films.
