The hero of the film, comrade Pandjuni, leaves for a remote Armenian village to propagate socialistic ideas. Short after his arrival, the peaceful patriarchal village abounds in class antagonism, expropriation of the rich, and emancipation of women. This results in violence, refusal of faith and church robbery. The film is more of a warning for all of us than an excursion into the past.
